Skeleton to complete and have reviewed. Passages in bold brackets are waiting for a value. This text carries the mentions required for an online sale to consumers in France, but it does not replace legal advice. The French version prevails.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the sale of licences to use the TrustScan browser extension to consumers. Placing an order implies unreserved acceptance of them.
2. Who sells
The extension is published by [NAME OR COMPANY NAME], [LEGAL FORM], [FULL POSTAL ADDRESS], registered under SIRET number [SIRET], EU VAT number [VAT NUMBER]. Contact: the address at the bottom of this page.
The sale itself is carried out by Lemon Squeezy, LLC, acting as merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy issues the invoice, collects and remits the applicable VAT, and appears as the seller on your bank statement.
3. The product
What is sold is a licence to use the paid features of the TrustScan extension. It takes the form of a digital key, delivered by e-mail, and verified offline by the extension.
Two paid tiers are offered, Essentiel and Confiance. Both are valid for twelve months from the date of purchase. They differ in the number of deep checks included each month, as set out on the pricing page.
The free features of the extension, namely the trust score and the detail of the signals behind it, remain available without a licence.
4. Price
Prices are shown in euros. [STATE: including or excluding tax]. The exact VAT applicable to your order depends on your country of residence and is shown before payment by Lemon Squeezy.
Prices may change at any time; the price that applies is the one displayed when the order is placed.
5. Ordering and payment
Orders are placed on the Lemon Squeezy checkout page, using the payment methods offered there. The order becomes firm once payment is taken.
6. Delivery
The licence is sent by e-mail to the address given at checkout, immediately after payment and in any event without undue delay. If it does not arrive, it can be re-sent from the “Retrieve my licence” page of this site.
7. Right of withdrawal: express waiver
Under Article L. 221-18 of the French Consumer Code, a consumer normally has fourteen days to withdraw from a distance contract.
However, under Article L. 221-28, 13° of the same Code, that right cannot be exercised for the supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium where performance has begun with the consumer’s prior express consent and express acknowledgement that the right of withdrawal is thereby lost.
By ticking the box provided at checkout, you expressly request immediate delivery of the licence and expressly waive your right of withdrawal. As the licence is delivered as soon as payment is taken, no refund can be claimed on that basis.
TO COMPLETE. This waiver is only valid if the corresponding box is genuinely presented to the buyer before payment. Configure it in the Lemon Squeezy store settings.
8. Legal guarantees
The seller remains bound by the legal guarantee of conformity (Articles L. 217-3 et seq. of the Consumer Code) and by the guarantee against hidden defects (Articles 1641 et seq. of the Civil Code). These apply regardless of the waiver in section 7, which concerns only the right of withdrawal.
Where the digital content does not conform, the consumer may require it to be brought into conformity and, failing that, a price reduction or termination of the contract.
9. Complaints
Any complaint may be sent to the address at the bottom of this page. It will be answered within a reasonable time.
10. Consumer mediation
Under Article L. 612-1 of the Consumer Code, consumers may use a consumer mediation service free of charge to settle a dispute amicably.
TO COMPLETE. Name the chosen mediator and give their contact details and website. Belonging to a mediation scheme is mandatory for a professional selling to consumers in France.

11. Personal data
Data processing is described in the site’s privacy policy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable settlement, disputes fall to the courts having jurisdiction under the French Code of Civil Procedure.
